The founder of the Ruh football club, a well-known Lviv philanthropist and volunteer, Hrihoriy Kozlovskyy, has been helping Ukrainian soldiers since the first minutes of the full-scale invasion. The military regularly receives various equipment, vehicles, drones, and more from the philanthropist.
The inspired help and work of Hrihoriy Kozlovskyy and the entire “yellow and black” team was recognised with an award. The soldiers thanked Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy for his support and presented him with the award “For Assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine” on behalf of Valerii Zaluzhnyi.
Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy thanked for the unexpected, but even more valuable award, and noted that supporting the military is the duty of every Ukrainian. And the main award that awaits us is the Victory of Ukraine.
In addition to the award, the Ruh founder received a gift — a Hutsul battle axe. It has a magical engraving as a symbol of fighting spirit and invincibility, a quote from the film Dovbush and an autograph of the famous Ukrainian actor Oleksiy Hnatkovskiy.
“I am very pleased to receive such an interesting and original gift. I appreciate Ukrainian history, so I really like such authentic things,” said Hrihoriy Kozlovskyy.
“This is an unexpected award, particularly from Valeriy Zaluzhny, and it evokes positive emotions. Of course, it is nice that the military appreciated our help, but the main reward is still ahead of us — Ukraine’s victory over the Russian invaders. I and the whole team are not doing anything special, because now every Ukrainian should help our defenders. FC Ruh, Emily Resort, the Foundation for Aid to Ukraine “Movement to the Future” — we all regularly try to send something to the military, respond to their requests and provide them with everything they need,” the philanthropist added.
The founder of FC Ruh has already received the highest award for civilians for charitable assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine — in May 2022, Hryhoriy Kozlovsky received the state award of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine — the Badge of Honour, and now he will receive one from Zaluzhny.
Hryhoriy Kozlovskyi stressed the need to support the Ukrainian military and called on all Ukrainians to work together to bring the Victory over the occupiers closer.
“Society has now begun to get used to the realities of war. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, everyone helped as much as they could, because they understood that we could lose our independence. But now it is noticeable that people are getting tired. I know it’s hard for everyone, but we can’t get used to it, and to do so, we need to support our army and help our military, so each of us must contribute to bringing our victory over the enemy closer. Don’t be indifferent and help the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” said Hrihoriy Kozlovskyy.
“Helping the army is the most important thing every Ukrainian can do today. It helps our soldiers to destroy the enemy and gives them faith that they are not forgotten. The contribution of philanthropists and benefactors to equip our defenders is incredibly significant.
Hryhoriy Kozlovsky supports the military in every way he can, in particular, he has joined the Victory Birds initiative, which is a great help.
“Today, these ‘birds’ are destroying enemies at the frontline, and the more of these weapons we have, the closer our Victory will be,” said Oleksandr Tishchenko, one of the co-founders of the Victory Birds initiative.
This month, Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy and Emily Resort transferred UAH 2 million for prosthetics for wounded Ukrainian soldiers and civilians affected by the war, who are now undergoing rehabilitation at the Superhumans Centre. And in March, the philanthropist and the Yellow and Blacks plan to transfer UAH 2 million to the Unbroken National Rehabilitation Centre.
“We are simultaneously supporting a number of teams and are constantly in touch with them and will respond to their requests. I am grateful to all members of our team for joining these initiatives and actively helping the military, and this process will not stop. I am very pleased that Emily Resort and Ruh football club have added a small drop to the cup of victory that awaits us in the future,” summed up Hrihoriy Kozlovskyy.
